Wiki-Doc
Projects, notes and small web tools I build and keep coming back to, all hosted on a Raspberry Pi at home. How it works →
Tools
- WikEq: 50 engineering equations across dynamics, fluids, electricity and more. Pick any variable to solve for, plug in numbers, and copy the Python.
- Wiring Tool: Lay out components, wire their pins into named nets, auto-route, and export a netlist, CSV, SVG or PDF.
- Unit Conversion: Convert engineering units and look up physical constants.
- CSV → Mermaid: Turn a CSV of connections into a Mermaid diagram.
- Recipes: Recipes trimmed down to only what you need: ingredients, steps and nutrition.
Games
- Qwordy: Daily word games. Build as many words as you can from six letters, or learn new words in Vocab Builder.
- Marble Tilt: Tilt the maze to roll a marble through five rounds of escalating mazes, and race your own ghost.
Reference
- IoT Database: Pinouts, photos, dimensions and links for the microcontrollers and sensors I use most: ESP32, ESP8266, RP2040, Raspberry Pi, MPU-6050 and more.
- SF Neighborhood Atlas: A guide to San Francisco neighborhoods, from Russian Hill to the Sunset, with an interactive map.
- Search: Search every page on the site.
Projects
- Clock Maker: Custom clock builds, and what goes into making them.
- Time Tilt: A smart ESP-based tilt clock, with its PCB and code.
- Touch Tone 2.0: A capacitive-touch I2C piano board built on the MPR121.
- DIY Stereo Vision: Depth measurement from two cameras on a Raspberry Pi 5.
- E-Ink Display: A DIY e-ink display with network scanning.
- Joystick Mouse: A beginner CircuitPython project: build your own mouse, with printable enclosure.
- 3D Printing: Prints worth making: Babushka coasters, Keylids, a band stand, building blocks and more.
- Art: Engineering-aided art, from photo to plotted drawing, including Cricut plotter art.
- WLED lights: A network of ESP boards running WLED.
- Python libraries: DocNet builds wiki documentation from a file structure, and Fleet-SSH manages a fleet of edge computers.
Writing
- Grey's Games 2026: A birthday competition 20 years in the making.
- Why We Dream: Why are dreams almost always something bad?
- Trust and Shared Understanding: Why trust holds societies together.
- Coffee reviews: Toasted, Haraz, Kopiku and Kiss of Matcha.
Notes
- Raspberry Pi and servers: Cloudflare tunnel + Flask on a Pi, running scripts as services, Pi troubleshooting, run scripts
- Command line: SSH, SSH keys, rsync, aliases, paths
- Diagrams and docs: Mermaid diagrams, Thought Cloud, emoji setup, markdown render test
